EV point installation training refers to the technical requirements and practical considerations when installing Plug-In Electric Vehicle charging points.
This qualification is aimed at practising electricians interested in understanding how to install the range of equipment and systems available, covering the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in public, private and commercial locations.
A formal qualification in EV charge point installation is required for registration with OZEV

As you study this EV point training course with us, you will cover a range of knowledge and skills across areas including inspection, testing and handing over of electrical vehicle charging equipment. Candidates will be assessed by an online multiple choice test

What is involved with delivering this course?
To receive these qualifications, you’ll need the support of our qualified assessors and suitable facilities. We are approved assessors, ready to guide you through this exciting new sector. This course is designed for fully-qualified electricians; The minimum requirements for entry onto this course are either an NVQ Level 3 qualification in an electrotechnical subject, an ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician card. Qualification in the current edition of BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations is also a pre-requisite for entry onto this course. Documented evidence of qualification needs to be submitted to the centre prior to attendance or on the first day of the course. You will leave our training centre well-equipped and ready to install EV charging points in a variety of domestic and light commercial locations.
We offer 2 compatible courses. The EAL EV3/01 which is a 1 day course and the City and Guilds 2921-34 which is a 2 day course. Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
